North Korea's ambassador to the UN, Kim Seong, criticized the South Korean-US joint drill to counter the North Korean nuclear threat.

Ambassador Kim raised the issue in his speech at the 77th General Discussion of the United Nations General Assembly at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on the same day, saying, "Even at this time, the United States is trying to hold a joint naval exercise that raises very serious concerns around the Korean peninsula."

Ambassador Kim continued, "This is clearly a very dangerous act of igniting the fuse that drives the situation on the Korean Peninsula to the point of war."

Ambassador Kim reiterated the previous position that North Korea's nuclear weapons development was due to a threat from the United States.

After referring to North Korea's recent enactment of a nuclear force policy that formalized the preemptive use of tactical nuclear weapons, Ambassador Kim said, "We must know clearly that the U.S.'s heinous hostile policy over the past 30 years has created the reality of today."

"The more the US hostile policy and military blackmail against us, the stronger our power to deter it," he said.

Ambassador Kim also strongly opposed the UN's move to impose sanctions on North Korea's continued development of weapons of mass destruction.

Ambassador Kim quoted President Joe Biden's speech at the UN General Assembly on the 21st, saying, "North Korea is consistently blatantly violating UN sanctions." , I will not admit it in the future."

Regarding the UN Security Council discussing sanctions against North Korea, it also argued that "the Security Council's discussion of the exercise of the right to self-defense, which is a legitimate right of a sovereign state, is itself a contradictory treatment that denies the basic spirit of the UN Charter, which stipulates equality and non-interference in internal affairs."

In his speech last year, Ambassador Kim made a conciliatory gesture toward the United States, saying, "If you show courage to withdraw the double standard for Korea, you are ready to respond willingly."

Ambassador Kim said, "The international order that the United States claims is an imperialist power structure that puts the United States' interests above international law and demands that other countries obey it."

During Ambassador Kim's 18-minute speech, there was no mention of Korea.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Kim said that North Korea ended Corona 19 in about 100 days, arguing that it was because of the superiority of the North Korean socialist system.
